The Battlefield Series continues. BF 1943 is the first time PC gamers will see the Frostbite engine. Used on console game Battlefield: Bad Company.
Frostbite is unique in that unlike previous game engines, like those used in Battlefield 2 and Half-Life 2 etc, the walls are all detable with Frostbite.
This means if u can shoot it, you can blow it up. I haven't played it since I don't console, but it sounds like it could really add to strategy play.
Unfortunately Dice may have trouble translating this to PC. I only say that because BF 1943 comes with just three maps. All set in the South Pacific.
Maps will be Wake Island, Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima. I rarely played BF2. I just remember one map with like 2 big islands. I also remember Wake Island but only because it came out for BF2 and the BF2 mods Point of Existence and Eve of Destruction.

New PoE 2.5 map released |

This map is very fun. Its all new map named "No Mans Land". Set on a open battlefield with little terrain elevations. However it is littered with trenches, bomb craters, dead trees, small ridge lines.

Point of Existence 2.5 Release |

Point of Existence has just released 2.5. The Battlefield 2 mod website is located at www.pointofexistence.com/
This is a professional level mod, with great models and maps.
Look around the site and see all the great pictures of maps and demos etc. Then run, dont walk to download PoE 2.5!
The mod sets the Ukraine vs Germany and the United States. Many maps are set in woods and in winter settings. The maps have a great feel and the new release ads more urban maps and a popular flyboy map called "Aces High". PoE 2.5 is BF2 taken to new levels.

MLO returns to test new coding |

Major League Online has been around since 2002. Over the years we have run different programs to handle the tournaments and events.
The release of a new version Point of Existence 2 (PoE2) prompted us to try this new coding.
PoE2 is a Battlefield 2 mod. Several great BF2 mods include not only PoE2 but Operation Peacekeeper (OPK), Allied Intent (AI), Eve of Destruction 2 (EoD2) and Project Reality (PR).
If we have a good fun season with PoE2 we will add leagues for other games like Call of Duty 4 and Counter Strike Source and all the great Half-Life 2 mods.
We wont forget you console gamers. Xbox 360 and PS3 will also be represented. In the past Major League Online (MLO) has had some great seasons with some big Pro purses. Our biggest event to date had 200 teams and $4,000 in cash and prizes.
For now we will keep the new MLO small and fun and see how we like this coding. A second site was mostly done and we may consider using that coding still. Time and funds just wont allow it at this time.
